Realtor Day at the Texas Capitol

AUSTIN - March 28, 2019 - Lubbock Association of REALTORS® members were among more than 3,000 Texas REALTORS® who converged on the Texas Capitol on March 26, 2019 to advocate for private property rights and the real estate industry during REALTOR® Day at the Texas Capitol.

REALTORS® from across Texas met with their representatives to educate them on our legislative priorities, such as property tax and school finance reform, ending forced municipal annexation, and supporting disaster relief and response.  Check out #RealtorDay on Twitter and Instagram to see hundreds of posts from the day, including from lawmakers themselves sharing how much they appreciate visiting with REALTORS® from their districts.

"Lubbock REALTORS® had productive meetings with lawmakers who represent us in the Texas legislature," said Vanessa Dirks, 2019 President of the Lubbock Association of REALTORS®. "We look forward to continuing the dialouge on issues important to Texas real estate consumers and private-property rights."

Thousands of new bills are proposed every legislative session, many of them affecting real estate.  Texas REALTORS® read them all so that we can support the good ones and oppose the bad ones.  REALTOR® Day at the Texas Capitol is a grassroots event, organized every legislative session, and is the cornerstone of Texas REALTORS® advocacy.
